Bamboula is another tradition originating from Africa brought to the Caribbean through slavery. According to history, slaves often performed this dance alongside the powerful rhythm beat of the drums. It is often said that the white enslavers were nervous of the music, afraid that a rebellion might rise. Bamboula rhythm and dance represent the spirit of resilience and freedom.
